Volunteering improves health and wellbeing

People of all ages who volunteer are happier and healthier than their counterparts who don’t, research has shown.

Volunteering improves wellbeing, helps reduce depression and brings other added benefits such as feeling healthier physically and emotionally. Make 2019 the time to try something new and truly worthwhile. Giving back can be a tremendous way of opening up a whole different world of experiences from which to benefit; whether this be aiding you to meet personal goals, perhaps upskill, re-train or make new friends. Volunteering means you can fit this around times to suit you in your own spare time, so you can make that time happen with your personal lifestyle. You just need to think about what you can contribute personally and when.

Castle Point Association of Voluntary Services (CAVS) is the local voluntary service organisation in Castle Point which relies on the goodwill of local people to help others in the Community. There are fantastic volunteering opportunities available now with CAVS key services including: Essex Children and Young People’s Service as a Volunteer Mentor, Befriending as a Volunteer Befriender, Family Mentoring Service as a Volunteer Family Mentor. These brilliant roles offer great variety, are flexible in nature and highly rewarding. For more info please contact Laura Phillips on 01268 214000 or
