Two men dead and others injured in Dagenham crash


TWO men have died in a collision in Dagenham.

Police were called to Lodge Avenue, at the junction with Neasham Road, Dagenham, shortly after 10.10pm on Saturday, 10 August, following reports of a road traffic collision.

Officers found two cars that had been in a collision – a red Honda Civic and a silver Renault Clio.

The front seat passenger of the Civic, a 17-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene and a back seat passenger was taken to hospital with severe chest injuries, where he later died.

The male driver of the Civic, an 18-year-old man, was also taken to an east London hospital where he remains in a serious but not life-threatening condition.

The male driver of th Clio, aged 46, and th female passenger, 42, wer taken to hospital fo treatment to non-life threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made.

Detective Inspector Adrian Looby, of the Metropolitan Police’s Road Death Investigation Unit, said: “This is a tragic collision where two young men have lost their lives. We are in the early stages of the investigation and are currently seeking any witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have any information.
