Cycle the highlights of Scotland’s North Coast 500 and enjoy a wee-dram or two!
Scotland’s answer to Route 66, the North Coast 500 is one of the world’s most epic road routes, but one best enjoyed at the slower pace of two wheels. This new week-long guided tour takes cyclists to the NC500’s very best sections, from the ‘wee mad road’ on the Coigach peninsula, the rugged sea cliffs of Sutherland and John O’Groats, with short transfers between. On the halfway-point rest day, cyclists enjoy an included boat journey with views of Scotland’s highest waterfall and the local seal colony. Accommodation each night is in characterful small hotels serving the best of local produce and on the 11 May departure guests will cycle through the region as it celebrates the Highland Whisky Festival (10-17 May) with eight distilleries along the route opening for tours and tastings.
Price: from £1,695pp sharing, including 6 nights’ accommodation, most meals, zodiac boat ride, support van, transfers and guiding. Tour departs 11 May. For more details contact Wilderness Scotland 01479 420020, wildernessscotland.com
