The team from Amazon in Tilbury had several fun-filled days of activities this week while helping achieve a new global sales record.

The fun events, which took place to celebrate the fifth annual Amazon Prime Day, included free t-shirts for everyone, a Wheel of Fortune game to win top prizes and arcade games.
The fun events were organised to say thank you to the Amazon team for all the work they do delivering for customers.

Prime Day is one of Amazon’s biggest annual sales event and the fun activity was organised by the team at the fulfilment centre in Tilbury to celebrate the day.

Best-selling deals in the UK included the Sony PlayStation Classic Console, the Oral-B SmartSeries Electric Toothbrush, and the Shark Vacuum Cleaner.

Amazon’s Tilbury General Manager Sertac Yilmaz said: “Prime Day has fast become one of the biggest dates in our calendar and what better way to celebrate than by getting involved in lots of fun and games.

“It’s been fantastic to bring our team together to say thank you to them for everything they do for our customers while celebrating Prime Day.”

Top-selling deals in Essex during Prime Day were Echo Dot, Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote, and Fire TV Stick 4K with Alexa Voice Remote, making this the biggest event ever for Amazon devices.

Millions of people around the world streamed Prime Day events including the Prime Day Concert presented by Amazon Music and headlined by 10-time GRAMMY Award-winning artist Taylor Swift.

Over the two days of Prime Day, on July 15 and 16, sales surpassed the previous Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined.

“Every year, we look forward to offering Prime members great deals across everything they need from homeware and fashion to the latest in tech and our own devices,” said Doug Gurr, UK Country Manager, Amazon.

“This year we’re thrilled that members in Essex had access to more deals than ever before, helping make Prime Day 2019, the biggest UK and global shopping event in Amazon history.”
