intu Lakeside is south east England’s favourite shopping destination and now with its £81 million external investment, there’s no way it’s not on everyone’s summer bucket list.
The top five UK shopping centre realises that retail is not enough and now has a new leisure resort – The Quay, which allows intu Lakeside to curate a new and compelling experience for Essex customers that will last from early morning to late evening.
What’s new?
Hollywood Bowl
With 24-lanes including six VIP lanes with table service, an American-style Hollywood Diner, a stylish bar, and a fun-packed amusement area – which is always buzzing. The Hollywood Diner, with a full-size vintage pink Chevy car seating area, serves gourmet burgers, hot dogs, freshly made thick shakes – all served in retro milk bottles, and signature desserts.
Nickelodeon Adventure
In a couple of months, intu Lakeside will be home to the UK’s first Nickelodeon entertainment centre in a shopping complex. Nickelodeon will have all your favourite characters including SpongeBob Squarepants, Dora the Explorer, Paw Patrol and more along with themed activities. It’s like a Nickelodeon theme park but now in your county.
Puttshack
The ‘world’s first’ social entertainment concept using mini-golf with ground breaking technology will be making its appearance to intu Lakeside this month. Puttshack will bring a whole new vibe to the shopping centre as it will host a buzzing bar and has an outdoor balcony overlooking the Quay and Alexandra Lake.
Flip Out
This is the ultimate adventure park with dozens of trampolines, ninga tag, an obstacle course, a travelator – yes, like the 90’s gameshow Gladiator and the UK’s longest traverse climbing wall.
Chicktopia
Now this is a brand-new concept and it has debuted at intu Lakeside. Launching into the food and beverage market as the ‘tastiest and craviest chicken,’ the new casual chicken eatery serves up fried and grilled chicken burgers and tenders along with skinny fries, salads, wraps and vegan and veggie options. Plus thick shakes!
The Hall
The team that bought London the well-known food hall – Market Halls, has opened their first out-out-town concept, The Hall which offers Essex customers a social dining area that lasts from breakfast and brunch through to dinner and cocktails.
Independent food vendors from across Essex and the South East include Burger And Beyond, Fundi Pizza, Mother Clucker and Curry On Naanstop.
Zizzi’s
Well this is a brand we all know and love. Now it’s open with al-fresco dinning in the Quay at intu Lakeside, offering a great Italian inspired menu.
TGI Friday’s
Enjoy a slice of the US in Essex. TGI Friday’s, which can be spotted by their Yellow NYC Taxi outside the store, opened in July with a central bar, open kitchen and seating across the restaurant.
Casco Lounge
This café-bar from successful operator Loungers, is set to open this month (August). The interior is retro inspired with vintage sofas and old school benches, it’s going to be the new spot to brunch just before a bit of shopping.
