Harold Hill is the place to be on September 7th, as it will host its amazing festival, headlined to be one of the biggest attractions to hit Havering borough. There will be everything from fairground rides to food stalls.
Organiser Alexandra Vella told the Enquirer “You may be aware, there has been a recent spate of knife crime nationally, but more recently, closer to here in the case of Jodie Chesney. When this incident happened it obviously sent shockwaves through the area, as a parent myself I wanted to raise funds to put into youth projects, mainly based in our local area to get kids off the streets and into something worthwhile, to show youths that there is another path they can follow which would lead to self-pride, a sense of achievement and a good future”.
On Monday July 15th Harold Wood Funeral Care’s Carol handed over a cheque of £500 to help support the festival. Local Councillor Jan Sargent who is also an organiser of the festival, told the Enquirer “I would personally like to thank Harold Wood Funeral Care for their help and support by agreeing to become a sponsor for the Harold Hill festival.
Having sponsors helps us to provide more fun activities for everyone to enjoy.
We can always count on Carol and Harold Wood Funeral Care.”
Alexandra Vella continued “Myself and other Harold Hill residents, including my husband Justin Vella, Councillor Jan Sargent and Paul MacArthur from SCG Security , formed a committee to host a Music Festival called ‘The Harold Hill Festival’ to be held on September 7th in Central Park. The response has been overwhelming, with the council donating the entirety of Central Park, local businesses offering services and donations.
“We are hoping the Festival will be huge, with a full size festival stage, 8 well established bands performing across the day, as well as singers. We also have a second stage for local talent ie dance troupes, jazz bands, majorettes etc and a third stage which will be manned by ‘Centreforce DAB FM’ who will be broadcasting live from the event.”
