Special night for school

The TipToe Stage School brought their talents to the big stage last weekend with their annual show – “Move Your Feet”.

Held at the Towngate Theatre in Basildon on Saturday and Sunday, the audience were treated to a spectacular show which saw routines covering all genre of performing arts.
Over 130 of the school’s boys and girls took part with dancers ranging from infant age to mid-70s.

The TipToe team were also thrilled to have special guests at the Sunday show. Musician and actress Lydia Lucy (finalist in The Voice) and Maisie Smith (who plays Tiffany in Eastenders) took time out of their busy schedules to watch the show and come backstage to meet the children.

The Mayor of Thurrock, Cllr Tunde Ojetola, also gave his support and came on stage at the end of the show to personally thank the performers and praise them for their “wonderful show and talent”.

The school’s principal, Julie Barker, said:“What an amazing weekend. Every single one of the pupils worked very hard and never let their energy drop.
“All my teaching team have put their personal lives on hold to bring this show to life. I am so very lucky to have their talents in the school and can clearly see the evidence of their innovative teaching paying off when I witness the way the pupils perform.
“Thank you also to our wonderful chaperones, programme sellers, quick change experts and our stage management team.
“And thank you to everyone who came to watch. To hear your cheers and see you giving the pupils a standing ovation on both nights was emotional.”
