A man from Langdon Hills has been given an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and jailed after 2,500 indecent images were found on his devices.
Stephen Fincham, of Heathleigh Drive, appeared at Basildon Crown Court yesterday, Thursday 1 August, a day before his 61st birthday, where he received 12 month concurrent sentences for four counts of indecent images.
He will be on the Sex Offenders’ Register for 10 years.
On 11 December, 2018, we received information that indecent images had been uploaded on 26 November that year.
Officers obtained and executed a search warrant at Finchams home on 22 December and he was arrested.
A number of devices were seized and 2,577 indecent images of children were found – with 89 in the most serious category for indecent images.
Detective Sergeant Jim Adams, from our Police Online Investigations Team, said: “As soon as it become clear that indecent images were being uploaded from Fincham’s property, we successfully executed a warrant at his address.
“Devices were seized and thousands of indecent images of varying categories were found on them.
“Fincham will serve time in prison and will have conditions placed on him through a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, helping us to monitor him and his access to devices.”
