Danbury racing driver, Scott Huntley, 17, one of the most promising young racing drivers in the UK, has been selected into the ‘Class of 2019’ for the Motorsport UK Academy AASE.
Scott is a former student at The Sandon School and was recently praised by F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo who said, “Great drive from Scott Huntley, one to watch” after a record breaking win. He has also broken the lap record at Sutton Circuit in Leicestershire.
The Motorport UK Academy is a talent development pathway that equips the UK’s most promising young drivers with the knowledge, skills and attitude needed to maximise their performance.
Launched in 2009, the two-year Motorsport UK Academy AASE in Motor Sport programme is delivered in conjunction with Loughborough College, ranked outstanding by Ofsted.
The programme is essentially a sports science course focusing on all of the human performance elements that combine to create highly skilled and successful drivers.
Athletes are required to attend Loughborough College twice a month for four days at a time and are required to be preparing for competition, in competition or be gaining work experience within the industry.
AASE athletes work closely with coaches, nutritionists and psychologists, and receive performance-based sessions in the technical and tactical elements of driving, coaching, lifestyle, career management, health and safety, communications and the media.
Scotts ultimate dream is to be an F1 driver and after five years in national karting with multiple P1 qualifying, race wins, podiums and fastest laps, plans to move to cars this season.
He is also looking for sponsorship from local companies. Please contact his father, Stephen Huntley, on 07850 209755 or [email protected]
