During this year’s Health Information Week 2019, Thurrock Adult Community College are raising awareness of adult education, helping Thurrock people find high quality information about courses to benefit their health and wellbeing.
Ask about the college’s range of free motivational courses to boost your confidence, create healthy self-esteem and resilience to plan clear goals for your future.
If you are aged 19 or over and identify with having mild mental health issues (for example: stress, anxiety, sleeplessness, divorce or bereavement), you will be eligible for a free ‘WELL’ Programme promoting good mental health through learning new skills.
From September 2019 courses include ‘Write Away: Express Yourself in Words’ and Soothing Sketching/Exploring Drawing plus Mind Over Matters that will help you towards a calm, focused positive approach to wellbeing by learning the principles of NLP, mindfulness and CBT.
Bookings are also open for 2020 ‘WELL’ courses where free sessions include Eat Well Be Well, Calming Crafts, Lift Your Mood with Singing, Trauma Sensitive Yoga and Gardening for Tranquility. Call 01375 372476 to book one of the induction slots, available from 22 July onwards.
Families can also access free learning at the college, with a large programme of activities for all including Tai Chi, Wellbeing, Creative Writing, Drama, Gardening, Cooking or Yoga for Families as well as informative/supportive sessions for parents/carers including Aiding Your Anxious Child and Positive Parents: Happy Home plus much more.
