Police appeal after boy hit with a pole


Police are appealing for witnesses after a 15-year-old boy was hit with a pole during an attempted robbery in Laindon.

The victim was riding his bicycle through St Nicholas Lane, Laindon at around 6.45pm on Sunday June 2 when the incident happened.

He was approached by three men who tried to take his bicycle. When the teenager refused they hit him with a pole. The teenager managed to escape with his bike and suffered minor injuries.

Police are now investigating the attempted robbery and are appealing for witnesses.

The first of the suspects is described as a white man, aged about 18, around 5ft 10ins tall, of “tubby” build with dark brown hair. He was wearing a white Nike tracksuit.

The second man is described as white, aged about 18, around 6ft tall, of athletic build with short, ginger hair and wearing a grey tracksuit.

The third suspect was a white man aged about 20, around 6ft tall, with dark brown hair cut in a “curtains” style. He wore a black Adidas jumper and light grey skinny jeans.
