It’s flower power time in Chelmsford as The National Flower Show returns to Hylands House and Estate from Friday 17th – Sunday 19th May 2019.
The event, which celebrates the very best of gardening, home and lifestyle, will be officially opened by TV gardener Carol Klein on Friday 17th May.
Carol who regularly features on shows like Gardeners’ World and Grow Your Own Veg, the BBC Plantswoman will also be taking part in live garden talks and a Q&A session at the Garden Talks Theatre on the Friday.
John Challis (aka Boycie) will be making personal appearances at the show. Visitors will be able to purchase a copy of the Only Fools and Horses star’s books and have them signed.
“This year The National Flower Show is going to be bigger and better than ever before,” added Matt. “We’re launching our brand new Outdoor Plant Village and inviting visitors to travel ‘around the world’ with our special floral art displays and competitions inside Hylands House.”
Across the three days, Hylands House and its surrounding gardens will be filled with inspiration, flowers, plants and everything you need for your home and garden including a magnificent Floral Pavilion, a Food & Drinks Pavilion and as well as a Home and Country Pavilion filled with a selection of original handmade giftware, jewellery and more – visitors can shop until they drop with up to 300 exhibitors at the show.
Hylands House will be decorated throughout featuring fantastic floral designs inspired by journeys from around the world. Award winning floral designer Mig Kimpton will curate a wonderful explosion of floral designs filling the house, with flowers, foliage and fragrance. Also, a floral art competition will be staged, showcasing the talent of some creative floral designers from NAFAS.
Throughout the show, Mig Kimpton will also host some unique floral workshops in the Terrace Room inside the house.
The Floral Pavilion will form the centre of the event, where visitors will discover stunning arrangements from nurseries up and down the country as they compete for the prestigious Best in Show prize. The Pavilion will be a riot of colour, fragrance and amazing plants with a whole range of specialists including Bonsai, Fly Trap plants, Cactus and more, all with unique and special varieties you may not be able to find in your local garden centre.
Visitors will also be able to peruse and pick up hundreds of plants and accessories for their gardens all at show discounted prices.
