Meet Essex’s Cutest Canine

Winner RenIN July we announced that Ren was your winner of Essex’s Cutest Canine competition, in association with Festival Leisure Park and Dogs Trust Basildon.

One year old Japanese Spitz Ren took the top spot after thousands of you voted, and is officially Essex’s Cutest Canine 2015.

Owner Laura Campion, from Laindon, said: “We are so excited that Ren was chosen to be Essex’s Cutest Canine, he is a wonderful dog and just wants to be friends with everyone. Ren is enjoying all of his prizes and we are looking forward to buying him lots of treats at Discover Dogs later in the year.”

Ren took home a fantastic prize package including an iFetch automatic ball launcher, two tickets to Discover Dogs at Excel London, Full Grooming package from The Grooming Room and Dog photo shoot with Kristie Lee photography with a DVD and six pictures.

Top three

In second place was Crofters Rescue dog Nana, now known as Chicka, who took home a Stay over Rover travel bag with goodies and wash and blow dry with The Grooming Room, which was shared between the rescue centre and Chicka’s new owners.

Third place was awarded to Trinity owned by Claire Peat Thompson, who won two tickets to Discover Dogs at Excel London and a nail trim with The Grooming Room.

Festival LogoThe top three had the chance to meet and make friends at Festival Leisure Park last week, with prizes awarded to the winners by Festival Leisure Park Centre Manager Matthew Chambers, who said: “It was fantastic to meet and greet our top three Cutest Canine’s at Festival Leisure Park last week. We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone that entered the competition, and look forward to supporting Dogs Trust further over the next year.”

Dogs Trust relies on the support of donations from supporters and members of the public so the proceeds from this event will really help towards giving the dogs in our care the best possible stay with us as they await loving new homes.”
