It’s time to sign up to this year’s Luke’s to Luke’s Walk – a 5 and 10 mile charity fundraiser organised by St. Luke’s Hospice.
Returning for its third year, the popular event takes place on Sunday 6th October and is suitable for all ages and abilities.
There’s a 5 or 10 mile route for participants to choose from. The 5 mile route takes you from the Hospice in Basildon to Luke’s House in Corringham, through the scenic Landon Hills County Park. It’s an enjoyable course and what’s more, you’ll be greeted with a delicious cream tea on arrival to Luke’s House!
Anyone taking part in the 10 mile challenge will then walk back to the Hospice alongside marshals. Transport will be provided for the 5 mile walkers.
Kerry Chambers, Events and Community Manager, said: “Our Luke’s to Luke’s Walk is a great family event and you’re sure to have fun, come rain or shine! Plus there’s the added bonus of raising money to help us support patients and families.”
The entry fee is just £10 per person (£15 on the day) while children in pushchairs and buggies can take part for free.
Money raised through the Luke’s to Luke’s Walk will help St. Luke’s Hospice continue to support people in Basildon and Thurrock living with life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families, friends and carers. The Hospice offers care for those living with or affected by cancer and any other advanced, life-threatening illness, and care is given within the Hospice or at home, wherever that may be.
