To mark Drowning Prevention Week, Fusion Lifestyle centres in Southend are hosting a range of activities, all designed to help promote safety in the water. Fusion recognise that the best way to stay safe in water is to learn to swim, so, to support Drowning Prevention Week, Fusion are offering all new Swim School members who sign up before 19th July the whole of August for free!
Drowning Prevention Week, created by the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) aims to reduce the number of drowning and non-fatal drowning incidences that occur in the UK every year, by showing people how to be safe and have fun near water.

Shoeburyness Leisure Centre:
• Free ‘Save a Life’ Workshops – Learn how to perform CPR
• Swim Better Day – take part in free swimming sessions

Anthony Cawley, Director of Operations from Fusion Lifestyle, commented: ‘We know how important learning to swim is and we’re delighted to offer a range of activities and a whole month of free lessons to everyone who wants to learn. Raising awareness of water safety is really important and we’re proud to have the chance to do our bit to help everyone in Southend learn to swim.’
Jo Talbot, Director of Commercial Operations from the Royal Life Saving Society UK added: ‘Drowning Prevention Week is a great way for us to remind people about water safety. Learning to swim is one of the best ways to stay safe and is something we would encourage everyone to do, not matter how young or old you are – it’s never too late to learn! We are really pleased that Fusion has taken part in the initiative and has a great range of activities and offers to support the cause.”
