Kara’s Wedding Diary

vintage wedding flowersI HAD a sudden realisation recently that our wedding is only eight months away – so it was time to tick another big thing off the to-do list – flowers.

I always knew that choosing my flowers for the wedding was going to be a difficult task – I had a clear idea of what I wanted but whether it would be possible was a different story, I knew that Pinterest was going to be my saviour!

Looking on Pinterest I decided on using vintage china filled with flowers for our table centre pieces. My issue was that I’d need to source all of the china myself, something that I knew would start out as quite fun but get boring very quickly – it could also cause lots of unnecessary stress!

In regards to my bouquet and bridesmaids’ bouquets I was after a very specific look; lots of dusky pink roses as well as carnations, which are an important flower for both families. I also loved the idea of a pom pom, which is a ball of flowers, for my three lovely flower girls.

vintage flowerAfter searching around for different local florists we booked in to have a meeting with Jade from Eden Floral based in Stanford-le-Hope. Straight away I knew we were on the same wave-length. She put my mind at ease immediately by suggesting different ideas and different flowers we could incorporate in our vintage theme.

I chatted about my ideas and it was nice to see that my husbdand-to-be was happily getting involved with the decision making, when it came to discussing his button hole he was quite fussy but luckily Jade knew exactly what look he wanted!

I’m so happy with the look that we’re going for and I’m so excited to arrive at Orsett Hall on the morning of the wedding and take a look at what Jade and her team have created! Next big thing to find is the cake, surely the cake tasting is the best bit of wedding planning, right?
