There are many things to really make a wedding special, be it a certain song played as the bride is walking down the aisle, or the couple’s favourite flowers incorporated into the bouquet. It’s all those little details that really make a wedding personal and memorable.
For your favours, why not give your guests a selection of your favourite sweets? Fill little jars with your sweets and add a small label to them which could double up as the place settings – this could also save the pennies on getting separate place cards printed out. You could even get crafty and make your own favours, such as cake pops.
If you’ve lost someone important, then they can still be part of your big day. Lots of brides are now attaching small pictures of lost loved ones to their bouquet.
You could also have a square from a piece of clothing sewn into your dress – that way it’s very personal to you but no one needs to know.
Need to keep the little ones occupied? Then why not put together a fun pack to keep them amused, fill with a colouring book, crayons and other fun bits, that way they won’t be moaning during the speeches.
The first dance is a great tradition, so make sure the song is personal to you.
It doesn’t necessarily have to be a soppy slow number, if your favourite ‘couple’ song is upbeat then have a proper boogie on the dance floor.
Remember, the day is signifying two families joining together – so get everyone involved in the planning process, that way you will have lots of fun stories to look back on in years to come.
