It was the most wonderful time of the year at Shenfield Christmas Fayre on Sunday 9th December.
The day of festive fun in Hutton Road included a variety of entertainment, performances and activities for all the family.
Local businesses worked with Brentwood Borough Council to put on the event which included lots of activities in the shops with live bands, lucky dips and family games.
Children visited Santa in his Grotto, sponsored by Rainer Hughes, with donations going to SNAP charity, and went on small fun fair rides. There was a free soft play space in Friends Meeting House supported by ‘Who let the Dads out’ play group and Fairtrade, and family photos could be taken in the festive photobooth and children could have a bounce on the inflatable Christmas Pudding both sponsored by Mullis and Peake.
Visitors were delighted by the street performers, which included a skilled hula hooper and two jolly Rockin Robins. Entertainment on the stage was hosted by Churches Together in Hutton and Shenfield outside Shenfield Library, which included performances by local soloists, performing arts groups and school choirs.
For shoppers, as well as the great offers and festive activities in the shops, there were more than 60 stalls up and down Hutton Road selling great gifts, crafts and delicious street food.
Mayor of Brentwood, Councillor Sheila Murphy, said: “Shenfield Christmas Fayre had such a great atmosphere and plenty for families to enjoy. The performances on the stage were fantastic and helped everyone get into the Christmas spirit and the businesses had live bands, music, and activities.”
