Dementia Action Alliance Essex

MPs from all over Essex attended an event in Westminster this week alongside the Dementia Action Alliance (DAA) to discuss ways to raise awareness and increase understanding and accessibility for people living with Dementia.
James Duddridge MP said:
“Southend, Castle Point and Rochford have successfully introduced services and support to become more Dementia Friendly over the past few years. There are now 13 Accredited Dementia Friendly GP’s who have access to a “one stop shop” resource pack full of local contacts and helpful information. There are also another 8 GP’s working towards Dementia Friendly Accreditation. These GP’s are supported by Dementia Navigators who operates in Southend, Castle Point and Rochford, who provides support to anyone living with dementia, or affected by it. So, if you are affected by dementia, this support is available and there does not need to be a diagnosis to receive it.
“The Dementia Navigator will stay with the person throughout their dementia journey, even if they move.”
