‘Combat Barbie’ looking for Miss England contestants

THE annual Miss England competition – England’s only entry to Miss World is coming to the South East.

Run by former Miss England 2009 Katrina Hodge otherwise known as “Combat Barbie” she is looking for local girls to enter or be nominated by their friends and family.

When Katrina won she was a serving soldier decorated for bravery in Iraq.

In the last few years contestants have raised funds providing a respite caravan for families of disabled children.

The winner of Miss England will fly to Thailand for 5 weeks to compete in Miss World – with a cash prize of $100,000.

Miss England has had winners and contestants of all shapes and sizes and professions.

“We’ve had a Doctor, Lawyer and size 18 contestants. You don’t have to be a model to enter but it could open doors to a modelling career.”

The event will see 50 girls from all over the South East compete, with 10 girls advancing onto the Grand Final.

Katrina said: “I’d love to find another winner from the South East, having lived here my whole life.”

“The girls love meeting like-minded girls and challenging themselves. You can meet such interesting people from all walks of life whose paths you otherwise would never have crossed.”

Katrina will be spending time coaching and mentoring all the girls.

If you are aged 16-26, never been married or had children then Katrina would love to hear from you.
