TO support Carers Week, running from 10-16 June, Thurrock Adult Community College is running two free workshops for Carers aged 19+ on Monday 10 June with Calming Crafts from 1pm to 2.30pm and a Mindfulness workshop from 7.30pm to 9pm.
No experience is necessary for either – both are aimed at promoting wellbeing and having a means to escape your day to day worries. Mindfulness as an everyday tool can bring a calmness to your mind, increasing your resilience and improving emotional wellbeing – there are enormous benefits for your physical and mental health and is something that everyone can develop and gain from.
Carers Week is a campaign to raise awareness and recognise the contribution given by the 6.5 million people in the UK who are carers and helps them get connected.
In addition to the free workshops, the adult college based in Grays will be running a short 4 week course, ‘Your Health, Your Life’, that starts on Friday 7 June giving adult carers the opportunity to get a taster of new topics and skills while exploring personal strategies for coping with their caring role, in a positive and encouraging class.
Don’t miss out Thurrock! Booking is essential for all these free offers and minimum numbers are required one week before the start. Call Freephone 0800 783 7733 to learn something new in a friendly and supportive atmosphere, on your doorstep.
