A NEW Southend based Centre dedicated to helping apprentices find suitable positions has been officially opened by local MP, Sir David Amess.
The Central Apprentice Careers Centre is part of the Central Training Group (CTG) complex in London Road, Southend and has opened just in time for National Apprenticeship Week which runs from March 4 – 8.
CTG is known for apprenticeships and the new drop in Centre for, would be apprentices is part of the company’ s bid to help more young people across South East Essex find the right career path.
Martin Kolton, Chairman of CTG, was awarded an MBE for his services to the development of youth and apprenticeship training, and he is delighted that the business he founded continues to reinvent itself according to current needs.
He added: “While we have a long history of working with people to find them apprenticeships, we wanted to improve their overall experience.
“Having a dedicated centre where people are free to come in and find out about current opportunities or just get some advice is the best way to do this.”
Sir David Amess commended the efforts of every member of the CTG team to get the Centre up and running and he believes it will be of enormous value to people living in and around Southend.
He added: “By utilising the latest technology, this new Centre has up to the minute information about all the current apprenticeship availabilities. It offers those looking to get their careers started the chance to drop by, have a chat and get some friendly, expert advice. Nothing beats face to face engagement with someone who is happy to help.”
CTG also offer apprenticeships in hairdressing and barbering, graphic design, business admin, customer service, marketing, team leadership, retail, warehousing and management. For more information, visit www.centraltraininggroup.com
