Police appeal after robbery in Rayleigh

Police have released an image of a man they need to speak to.

Police are appealing for information following a robbery at a shop in Rayleigh yesterday.

Two men wearing hooded tops and balaclavas went into M&S Confectioners, London Road at around 6.10am Sunday, January 7 armed with what has been described as a gun and an axe.

They demanded money and one of the men grabbed a member of staff.

The member of staff was not injured but pressed an alarm which caused the men to run off.

Nothing was taken.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.
