New homes being launched in South Ockendon.

A new housing development has launched in South Ockendon, to help supply the increasing demand for property outside of the capital with many Londoners leaving due to unaffordable house prices.

Recent statistics from Countrywide reveal a record 65,000 tenants have left London over the last 12 months, with 22 per cent leaving to buy a home. This is the highest rate of renters leaving London since 2007.

Bellway Homes is launching a collection of new homes in South Ockendon in Spring. Ideally located in Essex, residents will be less than half an hour from the capital.

The development called, Highland Park comprises one and two-bedroom apartments, and two, three and four-bedroom houses.

Built to a high specification, these homes are aimed at families and first-time buyers and professionals.  All houses include gardens and a selection of apartments have balconies.

Highland Park is only half a mile from the closest railway station, offering a 43-minute journey time to London Waterloo. Regular services also run to Southend, Barking and London Fenchurch Street. The M25 London Orbital and A13 are approximately 10 minutes away.

Emma Denton, Sales Director Designate at Bellway Thames Gateway, comments: “With an increasing interest in homes outside of the capital, we are delighted to introduce our new collection in the vibrant county of Essex.

“Located just 21 miles from Central London, Highland Park residents will benefit from an easy commute into the city and value for money. The village of South Ockendon offers a number of local amenities, convenient transport links and a vast amount of green space.”

Set in the countryside, Highland Park is also close to parks and public open space, golf clubs, leisure centres and sports clubs.

The area also has several well-regarded primary and secondary schools, such as Shaw Primary Academy, Holy Cross Catholic Primary School, The Ockendon Academy and for further education South Essex College.
