Victim formally identified on Tuesday
Detectives investigating the murder of 44-year-old Elizabeta Lacatusu in Norfolk Road, Ilford on Wednesday, January 3 have charged a man.
Genu Armeanu, 45, of Coleridge Avenue, East Ham, E12, was arrested on January 3. On Thursday, January 4 he was charged with murder. He will remain in custody until a trial on June 18 2018.
A murder investigation was launched in Ilford after the woman was found on a residential street with serious injuries.
Police were called by London Ambulance Service (LAS) to Norfolk Road at 7.09pm on January 3 following reports of an unresponsive woman in the street.
Officers and the LAS attended and found a 44-year-old with serious stab injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 7.16pm.
The women was named as Elizabeta Lacatusu a Romanian national from Ilford. She was formally identified on Tuesday January 9.
A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

In the early hours of January 4, a 45-year-old man was arrested by detectives at an address in Newham on suspicion of murder. Enquiries are ongoing.
