Thurrock aims to develop small business
The Thurrock Business Conference took place recently, providing support and inspiration for Thurrock businesses.
Over 100 local businesses attended the event held at the Civic Hall, Grays.
The BEST Growth Hub along with 13 other business support organisations joined delegates and provided new and existing businesses with expert advice and guidance at the event on January 25.
Leader of Thurrock Council, Cllr Rob Gledhill said: “This event, steered by the Thurrock Business Board, provided a platform for the businesses of Thurrock to come together and receive expert support and information on grant funding.
“The brand new Opportunities South East portal was launched at the event to help businesses recruit the workforce that they need, and access a variety of support including developing employee skills and attracting new recruits.
“The conference continues to be an opportunity for businesses to come together, network, identify growth opportunities and have their voices heard.
“We need more people to have the confidence to set up businesses in Thurrock.
“Small businesses are starting to thrive in and around the borough and we want to see an increase over the next few years in start ups.”
