Barking & Dagenham College was visited last week by 10 special guests from the Victorian Government of Australia to learn about UK colleges.
The visitors included the Minister for Training & Skills, Hon Gayle Tierney MP and David Latina, Deputy Secretary of Higher Education and Skills.
They arranged the visit as they are interested to learn more about vocational education and training systems in the UK and how those insights may inform future reforms in Victoria in relation to apprenticeships. They were particularly interested to look at apprenticeships in the context of the changing economy.
Arabella Rothwell, Manager Trade and Government Programmes, UK and Europe, State Government of Victoria told the College: “The delegation greatly valued their time at the college and learning about their successes and challenges. They all commented on how inspiring the staff member’s passion and commitment was to the school.”
