IF you’re unhappy in your relationship and are too tired for romance after a long day at the office, you’re in good company because according to a new poll, Essex is home to the least sexually satisfied spouses.
IllicitEncounters.co.uk – an online dating agency set up for married men and women – has found that the majority of Essex spouses rate their sex life at just five out of 10 – three points below the national average.
In addition 13% of Essex respondents report that they make love to their husband or wife less than three times a year, and a further 4% indicated that they are unhappy in their marriage. Nationally this figure is just 1%.
However, according to Sara Hartely, an Essex representative for IllicitEncounters.co.uk, these figures simply reflect the county’s fast paced lifestyle.
She says: “A great number of those living in Essex commute to London for work; that means long hours spent away from home, and less time enjoying and strengthening a relationship.
“If you’ve just spent over an hour on public transport, unable to wind down from your busy day, sex is not going to be the first thing on your mind.”
However, it’s not all doom and gloom because despite many couples in Essex claiming to be unhappy, the survey also reveals they’re less likely to cheat. Only 7% of respondents from the county admitted they had been unfaithful.
