Two fight for life after bike crash

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a road crash in south-west Essex which has left a motorcyclist and his pillion passenger fighting for their lives.
The collision happened near Grays when the motorcyclist appears to have lost control of a blue Suzuki GSF while travelling on the A1089 Dock Approach Road leading to the eastbound A13 and struck the crash barrier shortly after 6:30pm on Saturday, 24 July.
The rider, a 42-year-old man from Basildon, sustained serious leg injuries.
The pillion passenger, a 35-year-old man also from Basildon, sustained serious pelvic and internal injuries.
Both men were conveyed to Basildon University Hospital by land ambulance and their conditions are described as critical and life-threatening.
A section of the road was closed for six hours while forensic collsion investigators gathered evidence which will help establish the cause of the crash.
