It’s holiday season and we all know what that means – time to get your body ready for the beach and more importantly that gorgeous summer sun.
But to make sure you really get the most out of your tan, now is the time to get your skin ready with some pre-holiday treatments!
I decided to take some time out and enjoy the rare British Sun last weekend, so booked myself in for a Body Polish at the Kukana Spa in Orsett Hall.
Hidden on the lower ground floor, the Kukana Spa really is the perfect location for pure escapism this summer.
With contemporary décor and four spacious treatment rooms, three of which with their own fitted showers, the spa provides therapies from facials, massages and hair removals right through to make-up application, body envelopments and their very own No Hands Massage.
But with my summer skin a priority, I knew that the massage would have to wait - it was time to give my skin a scrub down for summer!
With the help of soft mood lighting and acoustic therapy through the massage table, it wasn’t long before I felt myself drifting away.
My therapist used a Body Brush on my skin to gently remove any dead surface skin cells before applying ESPA’s Exfoliating Body Polish.
Packed with exfoliating apricot kemels, which are blended with cooling aloe, nutrient-rich phytoplankton and refreshing spearmint the gel is designed to gently smooth away dry, dead skin cells and impurities, whilst at the same time nourishing the skin.
With a fresh scent and easily removed with a gentle flannelled massage, it was both a relaxing yet invigorating experience.
And to moisturise my skin, my therapist then applied ESPA’s Essential Moisturising Balm, which is rich in nutrients, to provide a boost for tired or dehydrated skin.
Feeling ultimately relaxed, I was left with time to chill out with a glass of water before returning to the real world – although if I’m honest, I didn’t really want to leave!
