Teenagers robbed of mobile phones

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after two teenage boys from Southend were robbed of their mobile phones.

Between 1pm and 2pm on Wednesday, 16 May, the boys were walking in an alleyway between Southchurch Road and Stromness Place, Southend, when two men approached them and demanded their mobiles which they handed over.

The first suspect is described as black, aged 16 to 17-years-old, of slim build, wearing a grey cap with a flat peak, grey jumper, light jeans, black Nike lace-up trainers and was carrying a shiny bag.

The other was white, 6ft tall, of slim build and aged around 15.

The suspects made off in the direction of Stromness Place.

Police are also investigating the robbery of another teenage boy which links to the above offence are being examined.

At about 5.30pm in Eastern Avenue, Southend, the boy was approached by a black boy, aged about 16 or 17, who threatened him with a knife and demanded his mobile phone. The suspect then made off on a red/orange BMX bike down Lewes Road towards Cokefield Avenue.

The suspect is further described as 6ft tall, of medium build, wearing a blue/grey jumper, light jeans and dark trainers.
