DETECTIVES are releasing the efit of a young man who threatened to stab a teenager during a robbery on Canvey.
The attack took place when the 14-year-old was walking along Benfleet Bridge, Canvey Road at 1pm on Sunday, 24 June.
He was approached by an older boy who threatened to harm him, forcing him to hand over the bike he had been walking with.
Investigating Officer, DCSimon Laurie, said: "This robbery happened on the bridge that goes over the creek between Canvey and Benfleet during Sunday lunchtime. With this in mind, we’re fairly confident that someone would have seen the attack or, at the very least, this lad wheeling his bike along the road. We would urge people to take a good look at the efit and give us the name of the person who committed this robbery. Although no weapon was seen, this was still a frightening experience for this boy.”
The assailant is described as white, in his mid-late teens, has curly ginger hair and, at the time, was wearing a grey tracksuit, a red top and grey baseball cap.
The bicycle has skull stickers on its handlebars and purple dice on the side.
Anyone with information in connection with this robbery is urged to contact detectives at Southend police station on 101, Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
