We may be creeping slowly towards spring, but there’s still time for plenty of action on the ski slopes. Whether you’re a classy skier or trendy snowboarder, make sure you’re sporting a look that works for you. “Be sensible, it’s all about layers. Thermals are a must-have to keep you toasty and warm, but that doesn’t mean looking fashionable needs to slip out the window. Go for cute and girly t-shirts on top of your thermals and layers, as this is really where you can have fun. H&M at Lakeside has heaps of fun t-shirts in a whole range of colours, as does Punky Fish with printed t-shirts of all designs, colours and pictures.
“When it comes to the trousers and coat, this year it’s all about patterns, from lightning stripes to polka dots. Snowboarders in particular are wearing long baggy jackets covered in stripes of all colours. If you do go for a very busy jacket, make sure you stick to one colour and pattern for your trousers to even out the look. As ever, the slopes are a sea of colour but all-in-white ski outfits are becoming increasingly popular, sported by both snowboarders and skiers. If you do decide to go with this look then make sure you’re an experienced skier as it does mean you’re harder to spot on the slopes.
“Don’t forget, no outfit is finished without a bobble hat or head band. Make sure you go for a colour that complements the rest of your outfit or, if you fancy being a bit adventurous, go to the opposite extreme with a whole clash of colours from head to toe. Accessorize has some really gorgeous bobble hats in all colours and shapes. Add the goggles and earmuffs and your look is finished. “Lastly, when you’re off the slopes, make sure you go for gorgeous statement snow boots – I’m talking waterproof and fluffy. Tuck your jeans inside, keep the thermal top and sparkly t-shirt on, and you’re ready to go!”
