FOUR bouncers from a Southend nightspot have been bailed while police continue to investigate the death of a local man during a night out in the town.
Reece Lamude (pictured right), 37, from Rayleigh, died in the early hours of Sunday morning after an incident with door staff outside Churchill’s Bar, in Tylers Avenue. Mr Lamude was rushed to Southend Hospital but was pronounced dead at 3.35am.
On Monday detectives launched a murder investigation after a post-mortem examination revealed that Mr Lamude had sustained neck injuries.
Four men, a 31-year-old and a 37-year-old, both from Southend, a 31-year-old from Shoebury and a 41-year-old from Rochford, were arrested on suspicion of murder on Monday. On Wednesday police confirmed three men, aged 41, 31 and 37, have been released on conditional bail until 7 September while enquiries continue. Another man, aged 31, has been conditionally bailed until 1 July.
Further investigations and forensic tests are continuing to establish the cause of death.
Mr Lamude’s family paid a heartfelt tribute to the ‘fantastic father and warm-hearted family man’ who passed away in the early hours of Father’s Day.
In a family statement released on Monday they said: “Reece was a warm-hearted, hard-working, ambitious family man. He was a loving father, son, brother and fiancé. He was out celebrating a friend’s birthday.
"His life with his fiancé was just beginning. He was a fantastic father and it is ironic how he was lost on Father’s Day.
"At this time the family would ask that their privacy be respected and they be given time to grieve.”
Anyone who saw what happened or has any information about events leading to the altercation should contact officers at Southend police station on 0300 333 4444.
