A second man has been arrested in connection with a series of attempted accostings in the Canvey and Benfleet areas.
The 22-year-old from Canvey was arrested on Wednesday, 5 May. He was released on bail until 7 July while extensive enquiries continue.
Police are investigating a series of incidents which happened between 1 March and 24 April. The incidents, which involved teenage girls, are believed to be linked.
High visibility patrols are being continued at local schools at both opening and closing times as well as in the general areas of Canvey and Benfleet.
It is important to note that none of the incidents have occurred near schools, nor have they been committed before school opening or directly after closing.

A 36-year-old man from Benfleet who was arrested on 23 April was released on bail until 2 July.
