A TINY puppy has been taken in by the RSPCA after being dumped in Wickford.
The five week old brown male puppy was found abandoned in the car park at the rear of South Beach Veterinary Surgery, Southend Road, Wickford at about 2.30pm on Sunday during cold weather when the surgery was closed.
The incident is being investigated by RSPCA Inspector Matt Gough (right).
He said: “This puppy is very lucky to have survived his ordeal. He was dumped alone on the cold concrete and it is only by chance that he was found just in time.”
Anyone with any information on who dumped the puppy is asked to contact the RSPCA in confidence on 0300 1234 999.
The puppy has already been found a new home but the RSPCA still has a number of other dogs that need new homes this winter. Danaher RSCPA animal centre near Braintree in Essex can be contacted on 01371 851201.
