Rangers defeated and miss chance to make ground on leaders

Romford 3, Concord Rangers 2

RANGERS spurned the chance to make ground on Ryman One North leaders Lowestoft, who lost at home to Brentwood, when they went down to ten man Romford at Mill Field on Tuesday.

After 20 minutes some poor defending by Concord allowed Romford's Kurt Smith to give them the lead and the home side grabbed a second when Romford substitute Toran Sengayore scored after Concord's Keeper Dale Brightly had made two good saves but could not keep out the third effort.
Concord's Steve King pulled a goal back on the hour and then Romford had James Gammons sent off after 64 minutes for a foul on Michael Begg who had to be taken off with the injury sustained in the high challenge.
Romford went 3 - 1 in front after Dale Brightly brought down Kurt Smith in the area, Smith got up and struck home the penalty.
Concord made it an exciting finish when Joao Carlos, who had come on for Liam Hopkins earlier in the half scored Concord's second but they could not grab an equaliser.
