Raiders' misery continues

ON Saturday, 2 January Romford Raiders lost 1-6 at Milton Keynes Lightning and defeat the following day against Peterborough left them 10 points adrift at the bottom of the table.
Romford Raiders 4,
Peterborough Phantoms 6

RAIDERS were spooked by Phantoms on Sunday losing a narrow match on the ice at home.
Two mistakes by Raiders’ netminder let in Tom Carlton and James Knight for scores in the opening two minutes of the match.
Phantoms’ Doug Maclver was then sin binned for 10 minutes for ‘incitement’ and Raiders took advantage but trailed 1-2 by the end of the opening period.
Brent Gough and Joe Miller then made it 4-1 to the Phantoms but Raiders pegged them back twice,
Raiders’ John Stiko was then dismissed for ‘jumping’ Shaun Yardley and Warren Tait and Miller extended Phantoms’ advantage before a late consolation from Raiders.
Raiders look to bounce back when they travel to Guilford Flames on Saturday which faces off at 6pm before they host Manchester Phoenix a day later, face off at 5.15pm.
