Police seek witnesses to assault and robbery

DETECTIVES at Pitsea area appealing for information after a woman was assaulted and robbed in Pitsea High Road on Friday night.
The 39-year-old local woman was walking home with a black and white staffy dog between 8.30-9.30pm and went through Pitsea market, past the railway and into Pitsea High Road and was near the car wash when two men assaulted her demanding money. She was pulled to the ground and kicked. She received a black eye and bruised ribs. They took money from her purse.
The men are described as one of mixed heritage with large afro style hair, aged late teens, 6 ft tall, wearing black and white clothing and with scars or tattoos on his arms. The other was shorter and stockier, white, aged 30-40, with a shaved head with stubble.
Police are checking CCTV in the area and are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and has any information about the two men responsible to contact detectives at Pitsea CID on 0300 333 4444 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
