POLICE in Southend are investigating an allegation of sexual assault after a woman was found in a distressed state in York Road around 10.30pm on Friday, 30 July.
The 22-year -old local woman was walking home when a man approached her asking for directions to a cash machine, he later followed her through the Kursaal Estate before sexually assaulting her in Southchurch Hall Park.
He is described as being in his late 20s, of east European appear-ance, five feet, 11 inches tall, medium build, with stubble and sideburns.
Detectives in Southend want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time, saw the man and woman or has any information about who the man is.
