POLICE are appealing for information about an armed robbery in Point Road, Canvey, yesterday evening (Saturday April 10) at about 9.15 pm.
A man entered Paper Chase shop brandishing a black pistol type gun with a silencer fitted which he pointed at the male shop assistant.
He then made threats with the gun by hitting it on the counter before reaching over and taking a three figure sum of cash from the till. He then ran out of the shop. It is not known which direction he made off in.
The male suspect was wearing a black hooded shiny jacket with a red motif on the right shoulder, black tracksuit bottoms, black gloves and black and white trainers.
