IT’S been a bad week on the road for Essex Pirates Basketball Club.
Last Friday they were beaten 99-79 at Everton Tigers in the British League and on Tuesday evening tumbled out of the League Trophy at the first round stage.
Pirates were 25-22 behind at the end of the first quarter against Everton and Tigers extended their lead to lead 52-37 at half-time.
That became 79-54 at the end of the third quarter as they secured a comfortable win over the Pirates.
Randy George top scored for the Pirates with 24 points while Taner Adu and Sam Toluwase both added 15.
On Tuesday Pirates went down 95-73 at MK Lions.
Pirates were 23-19 behind at the end of the first quarter and Lions went further ahead during the second period to lead 46-35 at half-time.
Their advantage became 74-54 during the third quarter as Lions cruised into the quarter finals of the competition.
Randy George again top scored for Pirates with 15 points, while Walid Mumuni added 12.
