THE former leader of Essex County Council has pleaded not guilty in court to charges related to his expenses claims at the House of Lords.
Lord Hanningfield appeared before Westminster magistrates today with three Labour MPs, Jim Devine, Elliot Morley and David Chaytor.
They all they denied theft by false accounting and were released on unconditional bail and will appear at Southwark Crown Court on 30 March.
