Life imitates art at Festival Leisure Park

EVER since the county’s own dance group Diversity hit Britain’s Got Talent last year, the popularity for street dance performances has continued to grow.

Fans of the art form will already have heard about Street Dance 3D – a film celebrating the talent of street dance – and to celebrate its release at the Empire cinema at the Festival Leisure Park, Basildon, venue will soon play host to its own dance school!

From 1 to 5 June, a Street dance stage school will be teaching kids different dance styles from the movie in a purpose built stage school marquee on site.

Sessions will take place between 11am to 2pm, or 3pm to 6pm and children are welcome to attend as many sessions as they want throughout the week.

Open to all four to 16-year-olds, each session will see the pupils put their newfound skills to the test in a mini-concert for parents, and the centre manager, Warren Blanchfield adds: “This will be a fantastic event to attend during half term and children of all abilities are welcome.”

Tickets cost £10. To book, or find out more, call 08714 714 714 or visit www.empirecinemas.co.uk.
