Many people would like to up sticks and jet to the other side of the world, and for the characters in new comedy drama Ladies Down Under, that’s exactly what they do!

In the sequel to hit show Ladies Day, Pearl, Jan, Shelley and Linda, leave their jobs in a Hull fishing factory for the trip of a lifetime.

“There’s a lot of comedy in the show, it will possibly touch your heart as well,” says Helen Watson, who plays Pearl. “All the girls have secrets which all get revealed through the course of the play.

“It’s written beautifully,” she adds. “I was delighted to be asked back after performing in Ladies Day, it’s such a lovely friendly theatre, everyone from the head department all the way to stage management and front of house.”

So you can forget Sex and the City and join these four Sheila’s as they journey through their own exotic deserts filled with handsome strangers - from adventures in the outback to the bright lights of Sydney!

And Helen can’t wait to get back on stage at The Queens Theatre.

“We had a standing ovation when we performed Ladies Day at The Queens last time,” she says. “I just love live entertainment, there’s always so much going on there. They have shows in the foyer, in house, community shows, it’s such a hive of activity and caters for everyone. I was delighted to be asked back there with all the lovely people.”

Ladies Down Under will be at The Queens Theatre, Hornchurch, from 27 August until 11 September. For tickets, call the Box Office on: 01708 443333.
