CHILDREN from Sessen Ryu Karate Clubs raised a final total of £715.28 for the Children In Need appeal.
The students from Basildon, Pitsea and Thurrock had to take part in an hour long sponsored session of gruelling physical exercises and karate techniques at each dojo that left everyone gasping for water and breath. 
The fundraising event was planned and organised by 14 year old Junior Blackbelt Sam Quinn (pictured right) of Gable Hall School.
Sam took fiendish pleasure in planning the most exhausting exercises for his fellow students and then getting their money out of them afterwards but it was all in a good cause.
