A FIRE was started at a cab firm in Brentwood this morning (Monday).
At 12.19am two local Essex County Fire and Rescue Service (ECFRS) crews went to the scene in St James Road.
The two storey mid terrace unit measures approximately 8 x 5 metres and was heavily smoke logged.
Crews wore breathing apparatus and used one hose reel to extinguish the fire by 12.54am and ventilated the building using a specialist fan.
A letterbox was burnt as a result but the firm is still trading.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage and an investigation will be carried out by ECFRS and the police.
