AN inspirational woman from Romford has managed to drop almost 10 dress sizes thanks to a new groundbreaking diet plan.
Claire Bristow, who lives in Rubican Court, Romford, has lost four stone since she started the ‘Go Lower’ diet plan at Christmas and couldn’t be happier with her new look.
“I’m amazed at how fast I have lost weight and how good I feel already,” says 35-year-old Claire. “I actually owned a coat that was a size 22 in December last year and by February this year I was back down to a size 12. It’s incredible!”

Although Claire used to be an aerobics instructor part time, she was forced to quit because of work commitments – and that’s when she noticed that she was piling on the pounds.
“I love food and I think that if you’re going to put on weight, you’ve got to do it right!” the training consultant chuckles.
“And I have no will power – if there’s nice food in front of me, I’ll eat it! But it came to a point where I just couldn’t lose the weight.”
Claire tried every diet she came across from Slimfast and Slimsure to Weightwatchers, but found that every time she ended up putting on more weight than when she’d started.
“I went to my friend’s aerobics class in December last year and after just doing the warm up, I was struggling to breathe. I remember looking in the mirror and just thinking ‘who’s that big fat heffer?’ Then I realised it was me and knew that I had to do something.”
And that’s when she discovered Go Lower. Boasting a 90% success rate, the revolutionary diet plan works with a unique combination of high protein and low starch and carbohydrate foods that trigger ketosis – the body’s natural fat burning process.
“There are only really two rules to remember,” continues Claire, who is now a size 10. “Just stick to protein and food that’s green and grows above the ground. And it really changes the way you look at food. You learn with your eyes and to be honest; I think even a two year old could follow it!
“For breakfast I’ll generally have a Granola Bar, which is absolutely delicious with 100g of berries,” explains Claire. “At lunch I’ll probably have some soup and for dinner tonight I’m going to have a lovely Chicken Chaff with leeks.”
All food is provided by Go Lower and there are no weekly meetings, which Claire found very appealing.
“Other weight loss plans focus more on your BMI, but because I’m quite a muscular person, the weight they wanted me to achieve for my height was ridiculous – I would have looked like an anorexic stick! Instead, Go Lower simply asked me ‘What would you like to weigh?’ which was such a refreshing attitude to have. And to help, there’s telephone support with your own personal consultant, who’s available whenever you need them.
“I understand that it’s not going to suit everybody but as long as you’ve got the drive to get up and do it, you’ll be fine. You don’t feel hungry – in fact my biggest problem is remembering to eat!”
