Gypsy and traveller consultation deadline extended

BRENTWOOD Council has extended its deadline for consultation with residents over providing gypsy and traveller sites in the borough.

The Council is currently seeking resident’s views on five proposed sites to provide for additional pitches to 2011.

The Consultation was due to end on 10 February, but has now been extended until 24 February to give residents more time to make their views known.

Council leader Cllr Louise McKinlay says: “I am extending the consultation due to the fact that the extended bad weather has caused issues with notifying residents that it is underway.

“In addition to this, displays will be erected in the Town Hall along with extra information for residents, to ensure that everyone knows it is taking place and it is their chance to have their views heard.

“I urge all residents to let their views be known, in this most important of consultations.”
