Grays go out after heartache of penalty shoot-out

Enfield Town 2, Grays Athletic 2

AET. Enfield win 3-1 on penalties.

AFTER a dramatic late comeback Grays bowed out of the Ryman One North play-offs, leaving manager Hakan Hayrettin in tears and their fans mourning an opportunity lost.

Enfield looked to have the match won after going two up four minutes into the second half but Grays mounted a storming comeback, grabbing a goal 11 minutes from time from the penalty spot through Harry Agombar and iconic defender Junior Baker powered home a close range header with two  minutes to go.

By this stage Enfield were effectively down to ten men, with one player barely able to walk, and Grays laid virtual siege to the hosts’ goal throughout the two periods of extra time but they couldn’t find the vital goal and lost the shoot-out 3-1.
